
Chennai, August 15: Thuvakkam Sangamam 2026 was celebrated with music, performances, laughter and togetherness as Chennai-based non-profit organisation Thuvakkam marked its Foundation Day and entered its 13th year of working towards meaningful social change.
The Foundation Day celebrations were held on August 15 at the Community Hall in Chintadripet, Chennai, coinciding with India’s 80th Independence Day. The event brought together Thuvakkam employees and their families, advisors, board members, volunteers and other stakeholders who have contributed to the organisation’s journey over the years.
Breaking away from conventional formal celebrations, this year’s Sangamam focused on togetherness, creativity and the diverse talents within the Thuvakkam community. The celebrations were themed around Iyal, Isai and Nadagam, with team members taking to the stage to sing, dance and perform, creating an evening of entertainment and celebration.
Be the Change Impact Awards 2026
As part of its ongoing efforts to recognise individuals and organisations contributing to social and environmental causes, Thuvakkam presented the Be the Change Impact Awards 2026 to changemakers who have made a significant difference through their work.
The award recipients were:
Individual Category: Ms.Angeline Mano M. – Certificate and ₹10,000 cash prize
NPO Category: Pitchandikulam Forest, Auroville – Certificate and ₹25,000 cash prize
Corporate Category: Genesys Telecom Labs India Private Limited – Certificate and employee engagement opportunity worth ₹50,000
The awards recognised individuals and organisations that continue to inspire communities through sustained commitment, innovative initiatives and action towards social and environmental change.
