Chennai, July 13, 2026

Secure Cam India has announced the successful completion of all five phases of its flagship Secure Our City (SOC) campaign in Chennai, marking a significant milestone in its mission to enhance public safety, particularly for women, children, and senior citizens. The occasion also witnessed the official launch of the campaign’s statewide expansion across Tamil Nadu by Hon’ble Justice R.Mahadevan, Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

The Secure Our City initiative is a unique community-driven safety program aimed at creating safer neighborhoods by providing free CCTV surveillance systems to households. Through this initiative, Secure Cam India has successfully installed security systems in more than 1,400 homes across Chennai, helping strengthen community-level security and raise awareness about personal safety.

The campaign achieved remarkable success through its final three phases. Phase 3 covered over 800 households in Sathyavani Muthu Nagar (SM Nagar), Chennai Central, bringing the entire locality under continuous CCTV surveillance. Phase 4 extended security coverage to an additional 600 households in Karpagam Avenue, R.A. Puram. Phase 5 focused on installing surveillance systems in several independent houses and a school for specially abled children located in Semmanchery, Perumbakkam, Tambaram, Medavakkam, Ayyapakkam, Kundrathur, and Nandanpakkam, ensuring enhanced protection for vulnerable communities.

To commemorate the successful completion of the Chennai project, Secure Cam India organized a special community event where beneficiaries shared their experiences and highlighted the positive impact the initiative has had on their lives. The program celebrated the collective achievements of the campaign while reaffirming the organization’s commitment to public safety.

During the event, Justice R. Mahadevan formally inaugurated the Tamil Nadu-wide expansion of the Secure Our City campaign. Congratulating the organization, he stated that the initiative demonstrates how modern technology can be effectively utilized for public welfare.

“The work accomplished through the Secure Our City campaign serves as an excellent model for how modern technical resources can be mobilized for immediate public good, especially for women, children, and senior citizens. Expanding this mission across Tamil Nadu will help extend its benefits to households throughout the State,” Justice Mahadevan said.

Speaking on the occasion, Rijoy Thomas, Founder and CEO of Secure Cam India, emphasized that the project was designed to prioritize families facing the greatest security challenges.

“We deliberately identified households where safety was not merely a convenience but a necessity for survival. We came across several cases involving vulnerable children who had suffered abuse, often at the hands of strangers. Such families require dedicated security protection. Our mission will be truly fulfilled only when these vulnerable sections of society are made safer,” he said.

Following the successful implementation in Chennai, Secure Cam India has now announced plans to expand the Secure Our City campaign to major cities, municipalities, semi-urban regions, and rural areas across Tamil Nadu. The organization aims to build an extensive network of safe communities through technology-driven surveillance solutions, contributing to a safer environment for every citizen.

The initiative has been carried out under the strategic guidance and mentorship of Padma Shri M.K.Narayanan, former National Security Advisor of India and former Director of the Intelligence Bureau, whose leadership has played a key role in shaping the vision and implementation of the project.

With Chennai serving as the successful model, the statewide rollout marks the beginning of a broader mission to create safer neighborhoods across Tamil Nadu through community participation, technological innovation, and public-private collaboration.
